Archie Connect
A Socratic AI learning companion for ages 12–18, with a parent insight layer. Private beta.
Brief
Most consumer AI tutors are answer machines wearing the costume of a teacher. Archie Connect was built from the opposite premise: that the form of a useful learning conversation is Socratic, and that the right system prompt and the right product surface together can produce a tool that consistently withholds the answer in favour of the question that gets the learner to it themselves.
Approach
The model is heavily scaffolded with role and policy: it does not give final answers to homework-shaped questions, it summarises sessions in a way the parent can read without surveilling the child, and it routes systematically toward concept-checking and worked-example generation. The parent insight layer is intentional — Archie is not an opaque companion. It is a tool whose conversations a parent can review and discuss with their child.
Status
Archie is in private beta with a small cohort of families across the UAE and the UK. The current focus is the qualitative evidence base — recorded sessions (with consent), parent interviews, and the question of what a good Socratic AI session looks like at scale.
